Lighting Designer
Lauren has been working with light for over ten years, with a unique design background in theatre, film and architecture.
Lauren began lighting theatre in Chicago while studying at Northwestern University, where her work was showcased in main stage productions of Evita, Six Characters in Search of an Author, and WAMU: Pomp and Circumstance.
She continued her design career in Los Angeles, working in the art departments for several films including, Guess Who (Sony Pictures Entertainment), War of the Worlds (Dream Works) and John Adams (HBO). She also worked as event lighting designer for the Los Angeles premieres of Two Trains Running and Crowns for the Ebony Repertory Theatre.
Lauren previously worked for the high-end residential and retail lighting design firm lightstudioLA, where she worked on the Catherine Malandrino Store; Edelman Leather Store in the Pacific Design Center; Dream, Believe, Achieve charity event at the Skirball Center; and multiple 10,000+ square foot private homes in Malibu, Bel Air, Agoura Hills, Santa Monica and Cancun, Mexico.
Lauren joined KONSORTUM1 in 2008, bringing her eclectic design perspective to a myriad of projects including Laguna Niguel City Hall; Old Towne Newhall Library; and the La Jolla Group Corporate Headquarters in Irvine, California. Current projects include The Lex on Orange in Glendale, California; Ralph’s Fresh Faire in Sherman Oaks, California; the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, Spinal Cord Injury Center in San Diego, California; and the Southwest College Cox Building in Los Angeles, California. She is involved in all phases of the lighting design process including creating schematic packages, designing lighting layouts, producing lighting calculations and 3D renderings, and creating fixture schedules and specifications.
With the influence of multiple design disciplines, Lauren seeks to achieve the perfect union of form and function between lighting and architecture.
